Outside Clinic, a Wiltshire-based eye and hearing care provider, is expected to create 75 jobs following a 50% increase in demand for its services since the start of the year.
The Swindon-based company, whose clinicians offer home testing to people in England, Scotland and Wales, has launched its largest recruitment drive to date following the growing market for over 65s. years that she mainly serves.
The company, which is on track to achieve a record £ 30million turnover this fiscal year, said older people ‘s preference for booking home visits rather than going to the optician on the street during the pandemic, had fueled the rise.
The Outpatient Clinic will recruit 50 optometrists, 12 audiologists and additional support staff to the 300 it currently employs in its operations.
The company said reducing its team of optometrists from 75 to 125 would help improve both its reach and appointment capacity, while increasing its number of audiologists to 30 would allow it to improve. to capitalize on a rapidly growing field of activity.
Its owners, Optimism Health Group, are preparing Outside Clinic for further growth, with the aim of turning it into a £ 100million business over the next five years.
The company cited the aging of the UK population as a factor, with the Office for National Statistics predicting that people aged 65 and over will make up almost a quarter of the UK population by 2038.
The Fortune Business Insights market study also forecast that the UK home healthcare market is expected to grow 6.4% between 2019 and 2026.

Outside Clinic chief executive Richard Gibson said demand for his services had “never been greater”.
