Mendocino County hit by AT&T phone and internet outage

An AT&T outage on Tuesday affected landline phone services, including 9-1-1 dispatch and DSL internet, along the Mendocino County coast, officials said.


Internet and phone services were interrupted Tuesday afternoon in parts of coastal Mendocino County due to what officials called an AT&T outage.

The service outage originated in Fort Bragg and affected landline phone services along the coast, including 9-1-1 dispatch and DSL internet, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter.

Residents who were unable to reach 9-1-1 in an emergency were asked to call 707-961-2800 for law enforcement, fire or medical assistance, according to the office. of the sheriff. County officials have temporarily bolstered emergency personnel along the coast, Sen. Mike McGuire said in a statement. Tweeter.

“Take care of yourself. Try to help your neighbors,” Mendocino County supervisor Ted Williams said in a Tweeter. “Additional presence in the affected area.”

AT&T crews were called “to fix fiber/telephone line cut,” McGuire tweeted. “No estimated time for restoration.”

An AT&T spokesperson told The Chronicle the company is looking into the issue. Additional information was not immediately available.
